Erika Noe MA, LLPC

Professional counselor

Farmington Hills, Plymouth & Online

I graduated from Wayne State University in 2023 with a dual Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy. Additionally, I obtained a Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. With a combined background in physical health and mental health, I ongoingly promote the importance of fostering the mind-body connection. I strongly value and emphasize how activities like exercise, yoga, and mindfulness-based movement can positively impact mental health, reduce stress, and enhance cognitive function. Each area of wellness plays a pivotal role in the overall well-being of each individual. The added integration of art therapy techniques allows clients to tap into their creativity, promoting self-discovery and empowering them on their journey. The therapeutic art process serves as a second voice, when words fail us.

I have worked in school and private practice settings, including an early-intervention center for children with autism spectrum disorder and other special needs. I have experiences working with families, children, and young adults with anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder, OCD, ADHD, adjustment disorders, trauma, stress, and interpersonal issues.

I have a deep sense of appreciation and understanding for the diverse and unique ways individuals experience and process the world. As a clinical mental health counselor and art therapist, I am able to create a supportive and safe environment that respects and celebrates neurodiversity.

As a first-generation immigrant from Mexico, I have shared experiences and perspectives that enrich my therapeutic approach with cultural sensitivity, empathy, and a profound understanding of the unique challenges faced by immigrants. Drawing from my own journey, I bring a deep appreciation for the resilience and strength inherent in navigating the challenges of acculturation and assimilation. My personal background allows me to establish a genuine connection with multicultural clients, as I fight for inclusivity by building spaces where individuals feel safe, heard, validated, and supported.

My services are tailored to the unique needs and experiences of each individual. I strongly believe the client is the expert and each individual is already equipped with the necessary strengths and capabilities to enact positive change in their lives. Wherever you may be on your journey, I am here to provide guidance and support by fostering trust and safety so that you are able to harness those strengths and skills.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time in nature, with friends and family, or getting cozy under a weighted blanket with my cat while crocheting/painting/reading or taking care of all my plants.

I am eager to be a part of your journey!
