Insurance

We accept all insurance providers as well as self-pay clients. Mala is an in-network provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield. If you use a different insurance provider, we may be able to provide you with a statement of services for reimbursement. It’s important to understand your insurance coverage before we start the intake process. Contacting your insurance provider to learn what your benefits cover is the best way to begin.

Working with a Clinician-in-Training

You have the option to work with a clinician-in-training at Mala for a lower price. This means that you will work with a clinician who is currently in school to be a therapist and completing their clinical hours.

All our clinicians-in-training are incredible people whose heart aligns with our mission at Mala and are overseen by highly trained supervisors. This is a great opportunity if you would like a more accessible therapy option while still getting quality care.

Good Faith Estimates

For self-pay clients

Under Michigan law, you have a right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) that explains how much your care at Mala will cost if you choose to pay out-of-pocket. This is to make sure we’re all on the same page and there are no surprises down the road. Reach out for a GFE before scheduling services with us or we’ll provide one to you at least 1 day before your service is scheduled.

Questions & Answers

  • This is something that is specific to your provider and insurance plan. You will need to contact your provider to find out about your specific coverage and if you have a deductible you need to meet.

  • Check with your provider to find out what you will need to pay for an out-of-network provider. If you need a document to submit to an out-of-network provider for reimbursement, our office can provide that for you after payment.

  • If you are paying for care out-of-pocket, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) explaining how much your medical care will cost. When you get treated by an out-of-network provider at an in-network facility, you are also protected from surprise billing for certain services.
