Katie Czarnik LLMSW

Clinical Social Worker

Ann Arbor & Online

I discovered my passion for working with children, teens, and families at a young age. I always knew I would work with kids. I became extremely interested in the neurodivergent population after learning more about the way my own brain works and finding the importance of this community for myself. I specializes in Autism, ADHD, other neurodivergence, and the LGBTQIA2S+ community. I am passionate about helping children and families to develop tools, manage emotions, and identify burnout and coping skills.

One of my professors once said that every child needs at least one cheerleader to help them feel supported, heard, understood, and safe. I aim to create a fun, safe environment where individuals can feel connection and support. My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and neurodiverse-informed. It is my goal to create this environment with every individual.

I use play therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy to support individuals through a neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed lens. I value incorporating integrative approaches into my care such as art, movement, music, sensory based activities. I am committed to continuing to learn other ways to support my clients, and learn the best ways that work for each individual.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my cats (Leben and Alfie), friends, and family. I enjoy being outdoors, cosplaying (fancy dress-up), learning new facts, and anything artsy. Ask me for a dinosaur fact!

I am currently a Limited License Social Worker working under the supervision of Dr. Hasti Raveau, Ph.D and Doug Gardner LMSW, RPT.
