Dora James, BS

Psychotherapy Intake Coordinator

Plymouth & Virtual

Hi, I’m Dora! I’m so excited to be part of the Mala Child & Family Institute as the Psychotherapy Intake Coordinator. With a background in patient coordination, administrative support, and business operations across a variety of healthcare and wellness settings, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for what it means to be the first point of contact for individuals and families seeking care.

In my previous roles, I’ve worked closely with clinical teams to manage client scheduling, coordinate care, support new patient intake, and ensure smooth communication between clients and providers. Much of my work has been centered around supporting neurodivergent children and their families, which has strengthened my commitment to accessible, affirming, and compassionate care.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Eastern Michigan University, graduating summa cum laude, with a minor in Sociology. My academic and professional journey has been rooted in the belief that every person deserves to feel understood, supported, and respected.

At Mala, I feel deeply aligned with our values of trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and culturally sensitive care. It’s an honor to be part of a team that leads with heart, and I’m here to help make the first steps into care as smooth and welcoming as possible.
