Ashley McGovern, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Ann Arbor & Virtual
Hello! I’m Ashley, a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with specialized expertise in perinatal mental health and child psychiatry. I am deeply passionate about supporting families during some of life’s most transformative seasons.
Pregnancy and the postpartum period bring significant changes and stress, often creating new mental health challenges. During a time when people should be wrapped around with support, too many find themselves slipping through the cracks. I am passionate about ensuring more women and birthing people receive the mental health support they deserve. To better serve this community, I completed advanced training in treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders through Postpartum Support International.
Just as the mental health of parents is crucial, so too is the mental health of children. Being a kid today can be incredibly tough. With the pressures of school, social dynamics, family expectations, and growing up in a world that is constantly changing, children face unique challenges that can impact their mental health. They need someone who listens, understands, and supports them with empathy. I strive to create a safe space where kids and teens feel heard, seen, and valued. I have extensive experience working with families navigating complex issues such as loss or gain of custody, foster children and parents, and adoption.
My approach to psychiatric care is holistic and collaborative. I believe that mental health is deeply interconnected with all aspects of a person’s life, including physical well-being, relationships, and environment. By addressing the root causes, we can develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your values and goals. My aim is to ensure you feel supported, empowered, and involved in your healing journey.
