Occupational therapist

Ann Arbor & Virtual

Hello, I'm Katy Bachleda, a passionate occupational therapist with a Master of Occupational Therapy degree from Eastern Michigan University. My commitment is to provide personalized care and support to children and adults with diverse needs, ensuring they thrive in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

HOLISTIC & INCLUSIVE APPROACH

At Mala, I am proud to embrace a neurodiverse-affirming approach to occupational therapy and care. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, social workers, counselors, and educators, I develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each individual. I believe in the power of collaboration and effective communication with parents and caregivers, guiding and supporting them to actively participate in the therapeutic process. Together, we work to generalize skills across various environments for the best outcomes.

EXPERIENCE & PASSION

My experience spans across diverse clinical settings such as pediatric outpatient clinics and the Center for Forensic Psychiatry, providing me with a strong background in both pediatric and adult settings and allowing me to develop a holistic understanding of the unique needs of various populations. I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of Occupational Therapy in improving the lives of individuals of all ages struggling with mental health disorders, sensory processing difficulties, and motor challenges.

CLIENT CENTERED CARE

One of my greatest strengths is tailoring therapy programs to meet the specific needs of each child and family. My client-centered approach emphasizes collaboration and empowerment. By actively involving families in the therapeutic process and addressing environmental factors, I create interventions that promote long-term success and independence, supporting clients in being their authentic selves. I am committed to fostering resilience, healing, and growth in every individual I work with.
